​Now imagine a day where you react and respond in a controlled fashion. In a way where you make the choices, you feel calm, and you value what is important and consequential to your well-being. The type of day where all ten buttons remain (or most of them)and all the energy, fun and feeling good remains yours to do with as you want as the day goes on. That is what Mind Tuning and swapforjoy will give you. You will start to create your life through your choices and no longer be at the mercy of someone else's mood or random events that happen throughout your day. You will no longer lose buttons unless you choose to react. Once you have awareness through Mind Tuning you get to choose. Situations may well still happen, but how you respond will decide how you feel. This dictates the quality of your life. Simple as. You will be in control of you. At the end of the day most of the buttons will still be in the jar so you have plenty energy, fun and feeling good left in the tank to enjoy life. When I started my swapforjoy journey I would end the day with no buttons. That soon became 2-3 buttons and over time became 5 or 6. I kept practising Mind Tuning and doing the Core Swap Practices. The good feelings just grew. I very often end my day now with 10 buttons and it is a rare day to be under 9.

Every time you have a negative thought, a negative response, get angry, get agitated, get frustrated etc you lose a button. Most of our reactions are automatic and uncontrolled. We don’t think before we speak. We don’t cut out the parts of the reaction which are unnecessary. Throughout the day anything can happen anywhere, anytime and with anyone. So living this way and just responding on the spot means you have little control and say over how your day goes. Each time you encounter a negative emotion or contrasting situation imagine you lose a button. As the buttons go down so does your mood, feelings and energy. Often at the end of the day there are not many buttons left in the jar for joy, love and fun. Your mood from your reactions and interactions determines that. I suppose the parallel would be when the jar is empty - so are you.
